Post Employment Benefits

Discussion

An employee should be informed about benefits when he/she terminates employment with the NPC. Medical, dental and life insurance benefits may end on the last day of employment or on last day of the month in which the last day of employment falls. An employee, unless dismissed for gross misconduct, may have the option to continue medical/dental benefits in accordance with The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) or may wish to convert to an individual life insurance policy.

Information regarding retirement plans should also be given to the employee upon termination, especially if the NPC has a matching or vesting program.
