SAMPLE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR
SECRETARY

As an officer of the NPC, the secretary must have in-depth knowledge of the mission and programs of the organization. In addition, the secretary must do the following:

  • Work with executive director to provide notices of meetings of the board and any committee meetings when notice is required.
  • Attend all board meetings
  • Serve on the executive committee
  • Maintain all board records
  • Ensure accuracy and safety of all board records
  • Review board minutes
  • Assume responsibilities of the chair in the absence of the chair or vice-chair
