OUTSIDE EMPLOYMENT/COMPENSATION
Discussion
NPCs may want to have a policy regarding employment
outside of the NPC with a clause stating that employees may not work in
any other job, during the hours they are employed by the NPC or be
compensated, including accepting bonuses from, any outside organization
for performing their NPC duties. In
addition, employees may not work in any job that might impair their NPC
performance or create a conflict of interest.
VA employees who also work for the NPC must document
that their NPC work is not being conducted during their VA “tour of
duty”. Time sheets should reflect the VA tour of duty and the NPC hours
worked.
