EMPLOYEE POLYGRAPH PROTECTION ACT
Discussion
Most employers may not use lie detector tests in connection with
pre-employment screening or during the course of employment. Exceptions
include government and national defense agencies; certain prospective
employees of security service firms and pharmaceutical manufacturers,
distributors and dispensers; and certain employees of private firms who
are reasonably suspected of involvement in workplace incident(s) (theft,
embezzlement, etc.) that resulted in economic loss to the employer’s
business.
