NAVREF Elects Three New Board Members

Non Profit Association Seeks to Grow

 

(Washington, D.C.) - The Board of Directors of the National Association of Veterans' Research and Education Foundations announced the election of three new Directors to replace Directors departing at the end of their terms.  The new Directors include Ms. Kelsie Page, Executive Director, Charleston Research Institute (CRI), Charleston, SC; Ms. Roberta Rusconi, Executive Director, Midwest Biomedical Research and Education Foundation (MBREF), Kansas City, MO; and Dr. B. James McCallum, Associate Chief of Staff for Education, Dorn VA Medical Center, Columbia, SC.

 

Ms. Page has been at CRI since 2004.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and has over 18 years of experience in nonprofit and business management that includes service to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

 

Ms. Rusconi began her executive service at MBRF in 2014, previously serving as the Director of Research Administration at the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. She received her juris doctorate from the University of Kansas and has accumulated over 18 years of experience in nonprofit operations, community engagement, and volunteer management.

 

Dr. McCallum is board-certified in Internal Medicine and has served the VA for over 12 years.  He has since served in a number of leadership positions within the VA including Associate Chief of Medicine, Interim Deputy Chief of Staff, and continues to serve as a practicing hospitalist for Veterans. Dr. McCallum also holds an appointment as Assistant Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine at the University of South Carolina and an American College of Physicians fellow.

 

The Chairwoman of the NAVREF Board, Ms. Priscilla West, expressed appreciation for the dedicated service of the outgoing board members stating that, “These three leaders bring unique skills and experiences that will greatly benefit the Board and better serve our membership.”
