CONTRACTING AND ACCOUNTING PROGRAM ASSISTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

SUMMARY

Supports the Contracts and Grants Administrator and Staff Accountant in the day to day administrative functions in a busy Non-Profit located on the campus of the Long Beach VA Healthcare system.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

 

  • Process CRADAs, budgets, Confidentiality Agreements, Amendments and other contracting documents
  • Protocol Review
  • Oversee grant management for staff of Principal Investigators
  • Maintain awareness of SOPs and current electronic websites and documents needed to submit grants
  • AP/AR/Payroll
  • Invoice and manage billings based on contract details
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

Degree in Healthcare Administration or equivalent discipline; 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare environment.  Selected candidate must be computer literate in Office Suite and capable of learning new software for accounting functions.  Familiarity with

Government contracting and/or SAGE software a plus.  Must be dependable, assertive, well organized and very detailed oriented.

 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Candidate must have the ability to communicate with a variety of researchers and healthcare professionals.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
